Lieutenant Colonel Hosea Makagiantang was born in a district in Central Sulawesi where there was no Salvation Army Church. It was only after studying in Palu that he came to know and worship at the Salvation Army Church. By His grace, Lieutenant Colonel Hosea was called to be a Salvation Army Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Hosea Makagiantang, was appointed and commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer on May 22, 1994, under the name “Fighters for Christ”. Lt. Hosea was first posted as Officer Assistant Corps 2 Bandung, then as Staff Officer of the Training Center, OP Corps Amurang and later as Secretary of the Youth Division Java Bali. During his placement at the Pusdiklat he was promoted to Captain. By God's will, in 2004 Captain Hosea married Captain Liliana Dwi Noviati, and together they were stationed as Cirebon Corps Officers, Supervisory Officers of RSIA Catherine Booth, Makassar and then Lieutenant Colonel Hosea Makagiantang became Secretary of East Palu Division and Lieutenant Colonel Liliana became Business Secretary of East Palu Division and concurrently Treasurer of Agribusiness. Their journey of grace with God continued, in 2015 Major Hosea and Major Liliana became Kulawi Division Leaders for 1 year, then in 2016 they were assigned as Java Bali Division Leaders. A year later, Major Hosea was posted as SBA Territorial with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and Major Liliana was posted as Secretary of Territorial Spiritual Development at KPT, Bandung. Three years later, they were transferred to William Booth Hospital and STIKES, Surabaya with the following placements, Lt. Colonel Hosea as Officer in Charge of William Booth Hospital, Officer in Charge of AKPER and STIKES William Booth, and Assistant General Secretary, while Major Liliana as Prayer Coordinator, Pastoral Care Unit, William Booth Hospital. God continued His plan for their lives and ministry, so that on September 1, 2022, Lt. Colonel Hosea and Major (promoted to Lt. Colonel) Liliana were assigned as General Secretary and Secretary of the Territorial Women's Ministry, respectively, until today. Looking at their personal callings, their post-marriage callings and their placements, one can conclude that this is not 'talking' about the two of them, it is all about God in their glorious calling as Salvation Army Officers. This journey of grace did not stop, God later bestowed two children in their home life namely: Jessie and Joel. Jessie is currently studying at a university in Bandung. Meanwhile, Joel is taking tutoring to enter a university in Bandung. Praise God for working and equipping them with all their limitations for the glory of His name through Bala Keselamatan Church.
