GRADUATION ACTIVITIES OF STIKES BK PALU

Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Best Western Palu hotel, Bala Keselamatan Palu College of Health Sciences, has carried out the XXIII Batch of Diploma III Nursing Program Graduation activities. 109 graduates have completed their education very well, as evidenced by 37 graduates graduating cum laude.

This year's graduation was attended by the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government Pjs. The governor represented by the assistant of government and Kesra Dr. Fahrudin S.Sos.M.Si, in his speech gave appreciation to STIKES BK for the achievements where graduates can work inside and outside the country. Dr. Fahrudin advised graduates to always maintain the good name of themselves, family and alma mater. Also present was the Head of General Affairs of LLDIKTI Region XVI Drs. Irwan Halid, M.Si.

Mr. Samuel Chee Koon TAN as the CEO of All SAint Home Singapore, started his speech by expressing his gratitude to the Clinical Director and Director of Nursing All Saint Home, Mdm Low Mui Lang for introducing him to STIKES BK. Mr. Samuel promised to continue to cooperate with STIKES, opening the widest possible opportunity for alumni to work at All Saint Home Singapore.

Lieutenant Colonel Hosea Makagiantang and Lieutenant Colonel Liliana Makagiantang as the General Secretary and Secretary of the Salvation Army Territorial Women's Service in Indonesia attended on behalf of the Territorial Commander and Territorial Women's Service Leader.

This year's graduation ceremony was attended by approximately 565 people. Besides being attended by the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government, LLDIKTI Region XVI, Mdm. Low Mui Lang, Mr. Samuel Tan, was also attended by the Head of BNN, Head of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Social Service, Head of the Nipotove Center Social Ministry, Head of the Central Sulawesi Population Control and Family Planning Office, Head of BP3MI, Head of Central Sulawesi PTS, Division Commanders, Principals of SMA & SMK Palu City, Chairperson of PPNI, Director of Woodward Hospital, Clergy and other invited guests.

The General Secretary began his remarks by conveying greetings and congratulations from the Territorial Commander and Territorial Women's Service Leader. Furthermore, the General Secretary conveyed congratulations to the graduates who had successfully completed their education. In his speech, he conveyed an inspiring quote from the Founder of the Salvation Army General William Booth who said “If you want to see the Salvation Army in the future, then you must shake it up today”. The General Secretary gave encouragement to graduates not to be complacent with what has been achieved, but to continue to develop themselves, so that they can compete in the world of work. The Colonel emphasized that graduates must have four main skills, namely creativity, critical thinking, good communication and the ability to work together. These competencies are a must-have in the 21st century.

The General Secretary also mentioned the 4 pillars of education, namely the pillars according to UNESCO, namely Learning to know, Learning to do, learning to be, and Learning to Live together. In line with the 4 pillars of UNESCO, the Salvation Army also has 4 pillars, namely the Spiritual Pillar, Education Pillar, Social Pillar, and Health Pillar. STIKES BK Palu also has 4 pillars, namely The Best of SASI (Spiritual, Attitude, Skill and Intelligence). After the inauguration and oath-taking by the Chairperson of Stikes Mrs. Estelle Lilian Mua, SKM., M.Kep, the graduates received a dedication prayer by the Secretary of Territorial Women's Services, Lieutenant Colonel Lilianan Makagiantang.

Wiuda activities are coupled with the 41st anniversary of Health Education and the 3rd year of STIKES Bala Keselamatan, handing over certificates of service awards to 12 lecturers and educational staff who have served above 15 years by the General Secretary accompanied by the Stikes Management Officer Major Melti A. Karaginta. Finally the graduation ceremony of Stikes Bala Keselamatan Palu, closed with the song ”Semua Karena Cinta Tuhan”
